VPRC Helping Hands Day 2012
April 28th is the date for this spring’s work day. FBC will gather with other volunteers to serve the Albany community. If you don’t have plans, come join us. If you do, change them. The day will begin with a gathering at FBC at 8:30am. At about 9 we’ll move towards our assignments. A free lunch will be offered at FBC when the work is finished. It should be a great day of loving others through service!
Haiti 2012
The church is a flutter as we prepare for our trip to Haiti in June.
The trip will take place June 20-27. At least 10 are talking of joining the team at this time. Registration is due by March 15th.
Ladies in the church are working hard to prepare Mission Dolls. They are cute as can be. Each is created to be a comfort to the kids and a tool to share the gospel in Haiti. I’m just hoping our own folks don’t swipe them all before we leave! Hands off!!
We are in the process of collecting medical supplies to use on the trip also.
Men and women across the church are praying for the work that will happen this summer.
Hope you too can find a way to be involved with the trip.
Christmas Morning is on a Sunday this year
FBC will meet for worship.
There will be no Sunday School Classes.
Our Morning Worship Service will be at 9:45 a.m.
Because We Care
Several years ago, FBC decided to start collecting a special offering to allow our church to be better prepared to help with local needs. Last year we renamed that offering “Because We Care.” September is the time of year we make that collection. The monies collected this month will be used to help meet benevolence needs in our community, to provide ministry dollars to local ministry efforts, and in many other ways. Pray about how you might support this offering. The 2011 goal is $1000. Wouldn’t it be great to see more raised so that we might provide even more help.

First Baptist Church is part of an exciting opportunity. On May 6th we will be hosting a leadership conference. Leaders from around the region will be gathering to listen to phenomenal leadership teaching from experts in the field.
